Today I am 24 weeks pregnant, only 3 more weeks until I start the 3rd trimester. Some say it is also the age of viability, which means the point in pregnancy at which the baby could have a chance of survival if born prematurely. It is kind of a relief to think that if anything was to go wrong and I was to deliver early, this little one has a much better chance of survival. However, I obviously would much prefer she stays right where she is for a few more months.
Today, she is probably around 1 foot long and 1.5 lbs. Her face is fully formed, complete with eyelashes and eyebrows. She can perceive light and dark (I've heard if you put a flashlight against your belly, the baby is more likely to move. I haven't tried it yet). She has also been able to hear Justin and I's voices for about 2 weeks now :)
Here is a pic of about how big she is:
Wow - so cool, keep talking to that beautiful baby girl and see how she reponds. I love you, mom
ReplyDeleteSing to her Becca - all of your favorite songs. She will recognize them when she is in your arms and you sing them to her!
